Newcomers

Welcome !

We are thrilled that

you are here!

Whether you are visiting for the first time on the web or in person, we are delighted to answer your questions and make you feel like “one of the family.”  We hope you will enjoy the great music, encouraging messages, friendly people and warm atmosphere that are integral parts of  the WCC experience.

How do I get there?

Wapping Community Church is easy to find.  We are located on one of the Wapping Four Corners in the center of South Windsor – just up the street from Evergreen Walk and Buckland Hills Mall.

Where do I park, get in the building and get to the service?

Parking is available in the lot closest to our building, and also in the lot closest to the South Windsor Public Library.  If both of those lots are full, you may drive out the back driveway from either of those parking lots, and park along the dead-end road you’ll find there.  Walk along the path next to the grave yard and enter through the doors at the covered porch.  Walk up the stairs to the room just outside the Sanctuary (called the Gathering Room).  An usher will greet and welcome you.  Greeters would be happy to help you find the Sanctuary, restrooms, childcare room and information about all of our programs for children and youth.

What are services like?

The order of worship includes opportunities for everyone to sing and pray.  There are readings from the Bible and a sermon that will inspire you to think about what you believe and how you live out your Christian faith.  The Chancel (adult) choir sings weekly (September through mid-June).  A Children’s Choir and Sacred Dancers are showcased at special occasions.

Where do my children go?

On Sunday mornings, childcare is available during the 10:00 a.m. worship service.  The Nursery on the 2nd floor is for infants through age 2.   Age 3 through Grade 8 go to the 10:00 a.m. service with their families and are dismissed during the Passing of the Peace to attend Church School (God’s Garden).

What do I wear?

Don’t worry about what you’re wearing.  Wear what you like and are comfortable in – dress in

your “Sunday best” or dress casually and rest assured, there will be plenty of others dressed

just like you.

Stop by the Friendship Table

The Friendship Table is in the Gathering Room, right outside the Sanctuary.  Feel free to take any of the information pamphlets about the church and its programs, sign the Guest Book and select a gift from the basket on the table.
