What We Believe
Summary
Wapping Community Church is a vibrant Christian community with a passion for mission and justice. All are welcome to worship, share communion and work together with us. Whoever you are or wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here. We support and inspire each individual’s faith journey. A belief in Jesus as the Son of God and a commitment to strive to live one’s personal life according to His Gospel of unconditional love is the only requirement for church membership.
Scriptures
Our faith is centered in Scripture, especially the Gospels and the teaching of Jesus. We believe that the Bible was inspired by God and should be read from both an historical and faith perspective.

Holy Communion
As a part of the one body of Christ, all are welcome to take Communion which is served on the first Sunday of every month, as well as at special services.
It doesn’t matter whether you have never taken communion, or taken it at other churches. Communion is open to all sexes, races, and ages (including children).
About Communion

Mission
We are a strong mission-oriented church. We believe each individual has a responsibility to demonstrate faith in everyday life. As a faith community, we demonstrate our commitment to caring for others through financial gifts to the world-wide mission work of the United Church of Christ (UCC). Our youth are regularly involved in mission projects far and near.
We support a vast array of community missions as well.
Diversity
We are a diverse church family. We are Democrat, Republican, Libertarian and Independent, straight and gay, liberal and conservative both culturally and theologically, young and old. We are growing in racial and ethnic diversity. We participate in interfaith involvements as a pillar of the South Windsor faith community.

Role of the Congregation
We are a church that engages professional, seminary-educated clergy, and we also nurture and recognize that all members of Wapping Community Church are ministers. We are the church and our lives are a witness and testimony to the love of Christ. Ministries and missions of the church are suggested, developed and implemented by our congregation. Our governance structure is evolving to boost and support empowerment of our congregation as Christ’s ministers and ambassadors in the world.

Ecumenical
We will fellowship and work with any faith body that shares our passion for mission, justice, equality and wholeness for all people. We acknowledge that together, people of many different manifestations of faith can accomplish more in ministering to a suffering world than any single group can accomplish alone.
