Weddings

Weddings at Wapping Community Church are gorgeous and we invite you to consider getting married in our lovely Sanctuary!  Congratulations, as you make plans for one of the most meaningful events of your lives.  The church is here to help you celebrate and support you in your marriage.  We consider you to be part of our church family and hope you will feel welcome here.

Planning Your Wedding Ceremony

Careful advance planning will enhance the sacredness and joyfulness of your wedding.

As you start to plan your ceremony, please contact the Church Office for a wedding guide and worksheet.  Return the completed worksheet to the Church Office so we can determine if our facilities are available on the date requested.  (NOTE:  Pastors are also willing to do off-site weddings.)  If approved, you will then schedule a premarital conversation with the officiating pastor.  In the months before your wedding, you should plan to schedule at least one more meeting with your officiating pastor to discuss the ceremony details and explore your relationship with each other and the the place God has in your marriage.

Same Gender Marriages

As an Open and Affirming church, WCC clergy welcome the opportunity to perform same-gender marriages in the church sanctuary for both members and non-members.

Honoraria and Fees

We consider weddings to be part of our mission as a church.  Honoraria and fees compensate staff for the extra time they take preparing for and performing your wedding. Contact our Office Administrator for more details.

Ministry Support

When neither person is a member of Wapping Community Church, or when there is not a pledge in support of the ministry of the Church, a minimum gift of $200 is encouraged in support of the church’s ministry.

Financial Adjustments

In case of a very small wedding which does not require a rehearsal, honoraria will be adjusted according to the circumstances and time required.
The officiating pastor has the right to waive honoraria and fees in situations of financial hardship.
