Wapping Community church loves visitors. Whether you are visiting the South Windsor area, looking for a new church to attend, seeking a calm place on a Sunday morning, interested in our Sunday Church School programs, or simply curious, be assured that we will be delighted to see you.

WHEN YOU VISIT

PARKING

Parking is available in the large parking lot next to our church at 1790 Ellington Road, South Windsor, CT. Handicapped parking is available in designated spaces immediately upon entering the lot off of Sullivan Avenue (just off the intersection of Ellington Road and Sullivan Ave), and in an adjacent drop off driveway also off of Sullivan Ave. We also have a smaller parking area on the opposite side of the church, which can be reached off of Petersen Way.

PASSING OF THE PEACE

During the Passing of the Peace, everyone is encouraged to greet one another during what has been described as a three minute riot of handshakes, hugs, fist bumps and other signs of how happy we are to be together once again. As a visitor, you can expect a lot of greetings.

BUILDING ACCESS

Our sanctuary is located on the second floor of our building. Access to the church is available through multiple entrances, as shown in our church facility diagram at the bottom of this page.

COMMUNION

Communion is held during each service on the first Sunday of each month. All are welcome to participate in communion, including kids.

ELEVATOR

An elevator is available from the Sullivan Avenue door, and can be accessed from the sidewalk adjacent to the semi-circular drop-off driveway next to Sullivan Avenue. Take the elevator to the second floor, and upon exiting take a left to the end of the long hallway. Another left will bring you into our Gathering Room and our church sanctuary.

Front Entrance

The Front doors are the two large doors at the front of our church building, facing the intersection of Sullivan Avenue and Ellington Road. Pull open the door (careful, they are heavy) and you’ll see two small staircases (one on the left and one on the right). Take either one and you’ll be in the entrance to our Sanctuary, where one of our ushers will be happy to greet you.

Gathering Room Entrance

The “Gathering Room” door, which can be accessed via the brick sidewalk running from the
main parking lot, next to our gymnasium, to a short set of stairs leading to our Gathering Room.
The Gathering Room includes our visitor welcoming area along with people who each Sunday
greet visitors and members of the congregation.

Petersen Way Entrance

Petersen Way door is immediately adjacent to the small parking area off of Petersen Way.
Come through the door and take the stairs on your left, and you’ll be in the entrance to our
Sanctuary.
