FINANCIAL GIVING EXPLAINED...
As defined in our church by-laws, the purpose of Wapping Community Church is multi-faceted: “To maintain a Church of Jesus Christ; to afford opportunities for the public worship of God; to minister to the religious needs and aspirations of the community; to provide religious education, and to co-operate in the building of the Kingdom of God throughout the world.” And through its actions our congregation remains true to our mission by demonstrating God’s love for each other and our neighbors in the surrounding community.
A critical piece of Wapping’s success is the financial giving of our members and friends. As a Congregational church we are entirely self-funded and the annual and other gifts we receive pay our minister and other staff salaries, maintain our sanctuary and church property, and fund Wapping’s youth education, music and community programs. We run a lean operation, particularly in comparison to other churches of our size, and givers can be sure their donations are efficiently used to provide the best possible impact.
Financial giving at Wapping generally comes in four forms:

Annual giving includes a recurring gift where givers donate on a weekly, monthly or other regular basis.

Intermittent giving is used by those who don’t give on a regular basis but do want to occasionally give to Wapping throughout the year.

Special purpose gifts are one time gifts directed by the giver for a specific purpose, such as support for a congregational project or program.

Endowments and bequests include gifts from givers who want to place their gift in the WCC Endowment Fund, or who include a gift to WCC as part of their will or other estate planning.
