Documentary Showing and Q&A: Beautifully Broken

September is Suicide Prevention Month. Dedicated East Hartford police officer Paul Buchanan, a South Windsor resident and member of WCC, died by suicide in 2013. He left behind his wife, Trish, and two sons, Jared and Benjamin. Jared has made his grief journey one to honor his father’s last words, “Make my death an issue so you can help others like me.” Jared Buchanan will be at WCC to share his story in the documentary, Beautifully Broken, a film about mental health, PTSD, and suicide awareness as told through the lens of ultra marathons and endurance sports. Beautifully Broken is a testament to the power of physical endurance, mental fortitude, and the will to keep moving forward - one step at a time.
