Collected $675 supporting the many missions of the United Church of Christ
Christmas Fund
Provided $1,661 to assist retired UCC pastors
Mother’s Day Blankets (Church World Services)
Collected $765 to provide 153 warm blankets to those in war-torn areas or experiencing natural disasters
Covenant to Care
Backpack Program
Provided more than 50 backpacks filled with school supplies to area youth to help them start the school year prepared, an estimated value of $6,250
Manchester Area Conference of Churches (MACC)
Provided food and clothing and toiletry donations at an estimated value of $6,000; prepared and served 5 meals at MACC, with 46 individuals participating on WCC Serving Ministry Teams; and delivered 47 gift cards to MACC totaling an estimated $1,175 to assist needy families for Christmas
CROP Walk
WCC hosted this event, which celebrated its 50th anniversary. Raised $9,400 and provided walkers to add to the 10 participating churches. MACC received $2,350
Undies Sunday
Collected and delivered socks and underwear worth an estimated $1,600 for MACC
Food Share
Hosted twice-monthly distribution of food including fruits and vegetables, each attended by approximately 120 area residents, facilitating distribution of an estimated $260,000 of food in 2019; planned and hosted Christmas and June luncheons for 120 people and distributed 200+ winter coats, as well as miscellaneous items such as scarves, hats and gloves worth more than $6,000
SW Food and Fuel Bank
Collected and delivered 800 lbs. of food worth an estimated $1,360, plus $150 incash and 173 jars of jelly worth an estimated $360.
Habitat for Humanity
Sent an eight person WCC team in October to help sheet rock and shingle the roof of a home in East Hartford.
