For the past several months, the Endowment Ministry Committee, has met to discuss opportunities for building an endowment ministry in a more formal and recognized way by which each of us can support the spirit that has supported us.

Endowment gifts are not new to Wapping Community Church. Gifts have been lovingly given to perpetuate the mission and ministry of our church. These gifts, regardless of the size, serve as an inspiration to the generations who follow, of the spirit, faith, and vision of the donor.

At the Annual Meeting, January 25, 2009, the Endowment Ministry Committee will place into consideration a proposal to restructure our endowment fund organization to a permanent committee. The sole function of the committee is to watch over the WCC Endowment Funds and nurture the spirit of giving to support the perpetual mission of WCC. This will result in changes to the church's Bylaws and Investment Policy as well as the establishment of Endowment Resolutions which outline the organization and the operation of the committee and the funds.

Copies of the proposed wording of the By-Law amendments, the Investment Policy, and the Endowment Ministry Committee organization policy are available in the WCC office, Library and in the Gathering room in addition to being able to print them out here.

We invite you to review the information and attend an informational meeting on January 11^th to answer your questions and to listen to your comments for consideration. We look forward to seeing you at the Annual Meeting of the congregation on January 25, 2009, also.
