FAMILY PROGRAMS Church Picnic: We begin our church year with a picnic in September. Games, parachute play, water balloons and the annual softball game makethis fun afternoon for all involved! Advent Fair and Crèche Lighting: Traditionally held on the first Sunday of Advent, the Advent Fair is an opportunity for all to participate in activities that remind us that advent is a season of preparation and anticipation. The culmination of the evening is a time of carol singing at the lighting of the crèche on the lawn. Lenten Family Gathering: : A lovely, contemplative evening of activities aimed at preparing people of all ages for Holy Week and Easter. Activities include collaboratively preparing a simple, shared meal of soup and bread, planting a tomb garden, learning about and participating in communion, and having an opportunity to wash each other’s feet. |
